Chapter 223 - A Crushing Tactic

Chapter 223: A Crushing Tactic

Yang Ying and Xiao Jia didn’t dare to linger, turning immediately to retreat. However, Feilong wasn’t going to let them, Flashing right up to Xiao Jia’s Jarvan!

Jarvan didn’t have any mana left, and with Renekton right in his face, he didn’t have any way to escape.

DOUBLE KILL!

As the Butcher’s axe came down, Jarvan was cut down, giving Renekton a double kill.

“The captain of ZJU—Ceng Feilong has finally shown his true strength, with his assistance, he has turned around a miserable situation! With the three for three, ZJU has not lost any advantage at all. Moreover, the kills were given to Renekton, he is definitely going to deal a devastating blow to SHU if this keeps up!” The host commented in excitement.

The strongest player in ZJU was Feilong, if you gave him enough time to farm and throw in a few kills, he would be able to wipe the whole team out alone!

Feilong had managed to secure two kills with his intervention this time, and after buying a Chain Vest, even Wang Jun’s Jax would have an impossible time against the crocodile!

“Beautiful, you came at the best time, Captain!”

“Yeah!”

Three for three, this was something they could accept. Their opponent’s top laner would have a problem dealing with him now.

Feilong glared at the other four members, his expression dulled. “What’s beautiful about that, the top lane turret has been destroyed.”

ZJU members all glanced to the top lane, and sure enough, they saw Jax taking down the turret with a wave of minions!

It looked like ZJU had lost one more tower and were behind again in terms of income…

Many people thought that obtaining the Dragon was more important than a turret, because it was an additional income and the turret would eventually be taken down.

However, in the eyes of some professional teams, the turret was far better than the Dragon. Many tactics required to be centered around a turret, including suppression of vision control, as it also required them to destroy their opponent’s turret first.

Feilong understood that although he would make it in time to turn the tides at the middle lane, they would still lose out on one turret, which included the vision in the area of zone one…

“Wang Jun, their captain’s reaction to follow up on assisting is fast, and they can seize the opportunity faster than we can. You don’t have to bother coming to help us, just keep pushing for the turret.” Luocheng said to Wang Jun. “Also, let us know if he goes missing from the lane.”

Jax needed the farm, and if he came to help them during fights but received no assists, it would affect him in the long run. Luocheng rather had Jax keep farming at the top lane and push the turrets instead.

Wang Jun nodded his head in agreement.

Feilong was indeed strong, and if it was two months ago, Wang Jun would have been taken over by him easily. However, Wang Jun was not the same person he was before.

In fact, Lone Gull Da Luo’s top lane was even more aggressive than Feilong. That guy’s control over the lane could practically brighten a blind man’s sight, killing you before you could even have a chance to react. Wang Jun had been pushed by Da Luo to the point that he couldn’t live with himself these past two months!

In the beginning, Wang Jun had been beaten up by Da Luo until he hadn’t even dared to leave the fountain.

That’s right, he hadn’t even dared to leave the fountain!

Da Luo’s top lane was really broken!

Proxy Farming? No standard!

He went directly to farm in their higher ground, if he was caught alone, he would kill his opponent. If two people came to gank, he would escape. If three people came for him, he would bring at least one of them down with him before he died.

Even if three of them went after him and secured the kill, they would realize that either their turret, Dragon or even the Baron had been lost.

In the second week, Wang Jun could more or less farm normally in the lane. However, he still got tower dived and died in multiple ways. Even if they camped the lane, it was useless, and if Da Luo tower dived him, he could still get the kill and walk away alive.

After a month of Da Luo beating him to the ground, Wang Jun could finally go against him without dying too much in lane. Da Luo had even told him that unless it was a professional first rated player playing against him, there shouldn’t be anyone who could beat him anymore.

Feilong was the captain of ZJU’s top team, and he was also the player for Team Revelation’s second team. In the National E-sports University League, this lane was his domain.

However, going against an unknown player like Wang Jun, he couldn’t obtain a big advantage, at most, he was leading in farm and a few kills.

This was why Feilong deduced that behind Shanghai University team, there was definitely a strong professional team!

“Their captain is good, if it wasn’t for his support, we could have taken both turrets and pushed straight in like the last match.” Yang Ying said.

“Yeah, and they’ll most likely focus on protecting their jungle area, we can’t use the same tactic anymore. Maybe we should split the four of us to push a lane while trying to find a chance to take down the bottom lane turret.” Luocheng mused.

“That might be a little difficult.” Jinbei said.

“Wait another sixty seconds for my cooldown, I’ll break this deadlock.” Luocheng said, confidence in his voice.

“Alright, let’s get back to lane and farm first then.”

***

“3!”

“2!”

Luocheng was once again giving the signal for Jinbei to get ready for an attack. Once Luocheng started his countdown, Yang Ying and Xiao Jia would unconsciously look to the bottom lane.

There were many outbreaks of a fight that you were unable to prepare for in advance, just like how Luocheng was counting down now.

However, no one could figure out how Luocheng’s eyes were able to be as sharp as a hawk, catching the timing in advance. The moment he reached the final count, it was very likely a kill would happen!

Jinbei looked toward Luocheng’s position and realized that he was already channeling his ulti from the brush below the wall.

“Hey, isn’t that a bit risk-”

Before Jinbei could finish his sentence, Fiddlesticks had already started screeching, the murder of crows appearing around him!

F*ck, it really hit its target!

Jinbei was stunned and had maintained his position, but he recovered quickly and pushed Corki toward the turret immediately!

“He ult-ed!” ZJU’s Support called out.

Qiming wasn’t indifferent this time, seeing Fiddlesticks jump out, he immediately pressed Flash and landed far from his turret.

Caw! Caw! Caw!

The piercing cries of the ugly crows resonated in the air as they flew around. Seeing Caitlyn Flash and use her 90 Caliber Net to escape his Crowstorm, Luocheng used his Flash and cast Terrify, inflicting Fear on Lulu.

ZJU’s Support had noticed Fiddlesticks jump forth, but he didn’t expect him to be so persistent to Flash toward him and Fear him!

2.5 seconds of Fear followed up by Corki’s burst of damage, Lulu was taken down before she could even release any skills.

Fiddlesticks’ terrifying ulti combined with the burst damage of Corki from the luxurious equipment that he held…

“This…is too cruel. Fiddlesticks ulti-ed and jumped from the brush underneath the wall, and Flashed straight at Lulu to dive her under turret. Adding on Corki’s damage, Lulu was instantly disposed off!”

Kill!

No explanation!

No one had expected a Support Fiddlesticks to be able to be as strong as this!

There had been no problem for him to dive under the turret to forcefully secure the kill!

Both champions that Luocheng had used as Supports had altered the crowd’s perception on the support role. The first game, the high burst damage and roaming Annie, and the second game, where Fiddlesticks was even more aggressive than the ADC!

Both the ZJU members at the bottom lane were already aware that Fiddlesticks had been channeling his ulti, but that information didn’t do anything for them. The ulti’s blink and a Flash covered up to about 1,000 yards, if you didn’t use your Flash, you’d be dead!

Lulu had already used her Flash in the previous teamfight, thus, she had tried her best to escape by running backward. In the end, she had still been inflicted with Fear and was easily killed off!

***

After the kill, the opponent Jungler could be seen at bottom lane, intending to kill Luocheng who didn’t have much health left. However, once he saw Jarvan and Yang Ying appearing at bottom lane, he banished the thought and could only meekly retreat and let the four SHU members take the turret.

Taking the turret and the blue buff beside it, they established control of the jungle area once again. Feilong was out of reach at the top lane this time, and he could only watch as SHU once again got the advantage of another turret.

Three minutes later, the scene was played on the screen in Shanghai University, and the cheers were once again deafening!

“Did you know, when we were training, Luocheng’s Fiddlesticks Support brought down an arrogant professional player. Can you guess what Luocheng typed in the all chat?” Qin Ting, who was serving as the host, commented to the crowd.

The crowd had seen Luocheng’s strength, and naturally, they were interested in him.

“In the eyes of my Fiddlesticks, hiding under the turret is the same as digging your own grave.”

Digging your own grave!

The one Support champion who could easily tower dive and secure a kill, that was the Harbinger of Doom—Fiddlesticks!

Countless people thought that as under the turret was a safe zone, their opponent wouldn’t carelessly dive the turret.

However, the Harbinger of Doom couldn’t care less about the turret. The people who hid under turrets would easily rely on it, and when Fiddlesticks blinked toward it, he could easily hit everything under it!

It was obvious that ZJU’s bottom lane was still stuck in the era of traditional support champions. They didn’t realize the strength of a Fiddlesticks Support, or rather, they had never met anyone like Luocheng who could play these unconventional support champions so brilliantly!

With this unexpected development, they were now suffering due to it!

***

Bottom lane turret had been destroyed, and so had middle lane turret. One side of their jungle was once again out of their control, and the next Dragon spawn was as good as SHU’s.

Feilong’s face was growing darker by the minute. They were such a strong team, and yet they were getting crushed by their opponent’s tactics!

“SHU’s Support is really good at pacing the game.” The host commented.

With the Support leading the pace of the game, this was SHU’s tactic. The support role was often easy to overlook, but if you broke this routine by using strong unconventional champions like Annie or Fiddlesticks, adding on your own grasp of the entire game, the pace of the Support was a bigger influence than even the jungler.

For most Junglers, their way of leading the pace would be to help establish kill advantages. While for Supports who led the pace, they would create a snowball advantage without using any resources!

The main carry of ZJU was Feilong, and SHU was clever in using their tactics to pressure the lane and take down turrets, keeping the fights at the mid or bottom lane where Feilong would find it hard to reach.

It was wise of SHU not to let Luocheng play before this, it was the element of surprise they had needed so that ZJU couldn’t find a way to retaliate at all!

It was a completely crushing tactic!
